A more intentional arrival built around contemporary African materials and landscape.
From a modest Waterberg lodge to a recognised safari destination, Mabula’s story has evolved alongside its conservation work and guest experience.
Mabula began more than three decades ago with a simple idea: share the Waterberg wilderness in a way that creates lasting reasons to protect it.
Over time the lodge expanded its conservation role, reintroduced iconic species and evolved its hospitality spaces. A transformation programme that began in 2019 refreshed rooms and restaurant areas before moving through the entrance, reception, lounge, bar, terrace and boma.

A warmer, more sophisticated welcome.
A destination for post-safari drinks, not just a pass-through.
Outdoor seating that lets the Waterberg light do the decoration.
A modern take on the traditional firelit lodge experience.
51 rooms and the restaurant were part of earlier phases of the transformation.
Mabula’s partnership with WildEarth keeps the reserve visible through virtual safaris, waterhole moments and wildlife footage even when you are not there.
